Description

Hi, my name is Kathy I am a caring, conscientious person who has always enjoyed helping out and looking after people. I am approachable, easy going and patient. I have a grown up family and grandchildren and a loving husband.
I enjoy listening to people telling me about their lives from past to present, especially with my experience with dementia! Encouraging families to talk with their loved ones about the past as sometimes this will be reality, or simple just be in the moment with them.
I have experience working in Hospitals, nursing homes and the community which has widen my range and ability to care for people, I have a NVQ level 3 in Health and Social care which covers Challenging behaviour, Infection control, Basic first aid, Medication, Dementia, Safeguarding, Moving and Handling along with End of Life, To which I have experienced not only personally but many times in my career. To help someone at this point is not only a privilege but something I find dignified and respectful. I have helped many families who care for their loved ones who have dementia, Parkinson's or just elderly that need day to day care, with general household task, personal care along with a shopping trip or simply just a coffee and cake. I also have experience in stoma care, strokes and personal care.

I am reliable, punctual, responsive and professional in all my duty of care to others.

Kathy was absolutely fantastic and turned out to be true gift to my Mum primarily, but also my dad and the rest of our family. We could not have asked for someone to be more professional, understanding, caring and extremely capable than Kathy was in the final weeks/months of my mum's life after battling with dementia for many years and more recently with atrial fibrillation. Kathy regularly went above and beyond to ensure that, not only Mum was comfortable, but also that dad had the support he needed as a carer for mum. Partners are often forgotten during these times but Kathy was amazing in actually caring for both of them in the different ways they required support. Often additional care and support was required at short notice and it was not trouble at all for Kathy and she helped out wherever and whenever she was able to do so. We, as a family, would highly recommend Kathy as a carer in all respects and thoroughly appreciate the effort she made to help us in our time of need. She was truly AMAZING!

Kathy has helped our family through my mothers end of life care and has proved to be a stunning credit to her profession. She is always kind, is full of brilliant ideas and will brighten the mood in the gloomiest of situations. Kathy is really proactive and intuitive in how she manages situations which was such a big help when we were all feeling a little overwhelmed. Kathy put us at ease with her confidence and friendly manner and certainly made us laugh when we really needed to. Kathy has also been my own PA and again has proved to be just exactly what I needed. She is so intuitive and has the confidence and capability to really take the strain of me. I have real trouble with the physical practicalities of keeping house, from emptying the dishwasher to having a good sort out, and Kathy took on the whole load effortlessly and with good grace. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without her. I can thoroughly recommend Kathy and look forward to working with her again soon.
